4th of July surprise

Rich and I went to Cleveland for the 4th of July. After being in DC and hosting people for the 4th for 4 years in a row we were ready to head out of town and let someone host us. Since we will be moving soon we decided to take our last trip (within driving distance) to Cleveland and spend time with his friends and family.

It was a great week full of fun, friends and family time! One of the highlights was going to the Cleveland Indians game on July 3rd. Rich's friend Beth got us tickets for our wedding gift. We had awesome seats, just to the left of home plate, about half way up the bottom section.

During the 4th inning a man approached Rich and said "We want to give you some prizes if you let us put you on film"...SURE, Why not!?

Rich turned 10 shades of red as the crowd gave him a 2 minute long standing ovation for being that games Soldier Salute. The entire rest of the evening people came up to him to thank him for his service to our country...It was very cool!

Luckily the Indians won, in the bottom of the 10th. It was followed up by probably the best fireworks show and tribute to our country I have ever seen. I recorded about 2.5 minutes of it on my crackberry but for some reason it wont let me download it :(

The time has come...

Our time in DC is drawing to a close. Tonight we are having our last get together at our house before heading west. Rich and I will be heading to NM at the end of the month. We should arrive in Albuquerque August 5 and our household goods will be delivered on August 10. Needless to say the last few weeks have been hectic! Our hot water heater spring a leak and caused damage, thankfully minimal damage, to the basement. We replaced that, dried and repaired the carpet and three weeks later our furnace was diagnosed with terminal motor failure. It has been an expensive month! I am ready to be renters in NM and not have to worry about these types of expenses! Although, we will still have to worry about it as we are not selling this house but rather renting it to another military family. We just hope that all that can go wrong already has and it will be smooth sailing while we are landlords 1880 miles away from our property!!

As of August 1 our new address will be:

Rich and Michelle Rupanovic
2720 Blue Sky Street SW
Albuquerque, NM 87121

both of our cell phone numbers will be staying the same so hold on to those if you have them!

I will post pictures of the house once we get there are are settled! It is a 2300 sq ft 2 story house. 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, 2 car garage (Rich is really excited about this feature), walk in closet (one of my favorite parts), big soaking tub, separate sinks, private fireplace and balcony in the master suite. Loft upstairs, den down stairs that we will turn into our office and a big kitchen with a big pantry. I can not wait to get there are get settled in and see how i can turn this house into our home!

While I am sad to leave DC I am excited about what the future holds for us. I will not be working right when we get to NM, I will ease my way into it. Instead, I will be setting up house, getting caught up on my record keeping for my work here in DC and looking into plans for our future family. It is truly a bitter sweet time, I don't want to leave my friends and my business behind but I am excited to see where this next life change takes us!
